Doctor De Soto is a mouse dentist who generally does not treat animals who are considered to be predators to mice. One day, however, he accepts a fox as his patient. Doctor De Soto must treat his toothache, but he and his wife start to fear for their safety while working in the mouth of a fox. This story is fun because it keeps the readers guessing throughout the whole story wondering what will happen next, what the fox will do, and what Doctor De Soto and his wife will do to ensure they help their patient without harm. This book is also great for teaching literacy lessons on making predictions and inferences.
