One is a spectacular read to show children that it only takes one voice to stand up, reach out, and do the right thing. Blue stays silent despite being a victim of Red’s constant bullying. Yellow, Orange, Green, and Purple see how poorly Red treats Blue, but they do not say anything. But when One comes along, One sets an example of leadership, inclusion, courage, and kindness. This book is a wonderful way to introduce the concept of bystander awareness and how to stand up for others through a simple and easy-to-understand story while reinforcing the themes of colors and numbers.
