Isaac and His Amazing Asperger Superpowers is an incredible, powerful, and accessible book that illustrates a beautiful perspective of Asperger’s, a kind of autism. The book has a celebratory tone, acknowledging differences as gifts. Isaac explains that he is a superhero, and sometimes his super powers give him a lot of energy. Since he is a superhero, he has a lot of things to think about. He tries to remember to be friendly, but sometimes he forgets. His superhero brain remembers a lot of things and he loves to tell people about interesting facts, even if they do not find them as interesting. Coming from an Asperger’s child’s point of view, this book is fabulous for having conversations and gaining a better understanding of kids who look like everyone else but have a brain that works a little bit differently.
